บทนำเกี่ยวกับการรู้สารสนเทศ      การพัฒนาสมรรถนะการรู้สารสนเทศของนักศึกษาตามมาตรฐานการรู้สารสนเทศระดับอุดมศึกษา   ได้แก่   การกำหนดลักษณะและขอบเขตความต้องการสารสนเทศ     การเข้าถึงสารสนเทศที่ต้องการอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและประสิทธิผล     การประเมินสารสนเทศและแหล่งสารสนเทศได้อย่างลึกซึ้งและเชื่อมโยงสารสนเทศที่คัดสรรเข้ากับระบบฐานความรู้เดิมของบุคคล     การใช้สารสนเทศอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพเพื่อให้บรรลุผลตามวัตถุประสงค์เฉพาะ     การเข้าใจประเด็นต่างๆที่เกี่ยวกับการใช้สารสนเทศและการใช้สารสนเทศอย่างมีจริยธรรมและถูกกฎหมาย
