     Abstract This study aimed to explore student interns’ perspective about core values driven in mathematics education program that they learnt from extracurricular activities through the duration of the five-year with lesson study and open approach based on Inprasitha (2010). The participants were 14 student-interns from mathematics education program, faculty of education, Khon Kaen University who practiced teaching at 7 schools project of the Students’ Mathematical Higher Thinking Development Project in Northeastern of Thailand. They practiced teaching by using lesson study and open approach at Ubon Ratchathani province. The data collection instruments were the questionnaire and the interview. The data was analyzed using content analysis which was classified according to the framework of the 4 core values driven in mathematics teacher education program of Inprasitha (2015; 2016) - 1) Building Collaboration 2) Public Concern 3) Open-minded Attitudes and 4) Emphasis on Product-Processes Approach.
