     Abstract Abstract This paper investigates moral happiness of skipped-generation families in rural north-eastern Thailand. The qualitative methodological approach was implemented in the study. Data collection was conducted in April - May 2018 in O-Lo village, Phu Khiao district, Chaiyaphum province and in-depth interview was used as a research instrument to collect data from two groups of key informants, including 1) community leaders, community seniors, and community committees, In total eight persons, and 2) skipped-generation families with difference living together in a rural north-eastern region of Thailand, classified by number of grandparents grandchildren and migrants to work abroad, in total twenty families. Data analysis was done by the content analysis method. The study indicated that skipped-generation families are the families with grandparents and grandchildren living together. There are six types of residence: (1) family with grandparents living alone with one grandchild and one migrant (2) family with grandparents living alone with one grandchild and two migrant (3) family with grandparents living alone with more than one grandchild and two migrant (4) family with grandparents living together with one grandchild and two migrant (5) family with grandparents living together with more than one grandchild and one migrant (6) family with grandparents living together with more than one grandchild and two migrant. Most of skipped-generation families especially the members of the grandparents will be tended to train their grandchildren in sinful fate and good deeds. Many times when a skipped-generation families has a wrong behavior pattern in their society, such as alcoholism, neighbors gossiping, and theft. Family members often warn and point out the detriment of their actions. The family has a view about the moral happiness. "We know the effect of action. It makes us optimistic thinking and do a good things always, we do not dare to do wrong things, cause we know the result will be followed". This view allows skipped-generations families to live together under the difference generation, even if the members of families are not complete. Especially family with grandparents living together with more than one grandchild and two migrant that are the most commonly encountered family in the O-Lo village.
