Abstract This paper presents quality analysis of corporate social responsibility both in process and after process of small and medium enterprises in the northeastern region of Thailand. Research topics include patterns, understanding and factors related to corporate social responsibility. It is found that corporate social responsibility in process primarily focuses on quality of product and service while corporate social responsibility after process goes into money and items donation. The medium enterprises tend to have better perception about the concept of corporate social responsibility and concern more about communities and environment than small enterprises which consider corporate social responsibility as corporate philanthropy. Several factors having an effect on corporate social responsibility including general characteristics, internal and external organizational environments are listed. Finally, suggestion on a development plan to promote corporate social responsibility for small and medium enterprises in Thailand is given.
