This course covers many of the analog aspects of integrated circuit design, including mixed signal (analog/digital) IC's. Topics covered include models for active devices, bipolar, MOS, and BiMOS technologies, single and two transistor amplifier stages, amplifier output stages, current sources and active loads, constant voltage sources, operational amplifiers, feedback, frequency response, noise, oscillators, mixed-mode simulation, ADCs, DACs, and switched capacitor filters. Through the University's membership in the Canadian Microelectronics Corporation, students are given the opportunity to submit designs for fabrication.
