| Abstract |
RFID technologyandtheEPCglobalNetworkStandardhaveattractedgrowinginterestfromawide
range ofindustriesandresearchacademics.ThispaperproposesasignificantapproachtoadoptingRFID
systemintoasimplesupplychainusingsimulationtechnique.Thesimplesupplychainandthe
businessprocessarestated.Thesuggestedopensourcesolutionswiththesupportingcomponents
compliantwiththeEPCglobalNetworkStandardareusedtoemulatethesystem.Thesupplychain
process remodelingandEPCinformationflowareevaluatedafterthesimulationrunsfollowthe
designedscenarios.Duetothelimitationsonthereal-worldimplementation,thesimulationisuseful
for supplychainfirmsandresearchacademicstostudyandillustratethenewremodeledprocessandto
understandthepracticalimplicationsofthetechnologywithouthighinvestmentandlongtime
implementation. |
