บทคัดย่อ This study was carried out to determine the nutritive values of yeast malated fermented cassava pulp (YMFCP) and how post-weaning pigs respond to diets including different levels of YMFCP in criteria of growth performance. A total of 40 weaning pigs of 3 lines crossbred (Landrace x Landrace x Large White) weighing 5.98±0.15 kg on an average were used to evaluate the growth performance in a randomized complete block design. Pigs were grouped into four blocks having10 pigs each. Each block was treated wih five diets, numbered as 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, with 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12% YMFCP, respectively. Duplicate treatment was offered for each block. Nutrient contents of YMFCP were estimated using proximate analysis. The result showed that YMFCP contained 13.44%, 17.05% and 2.11% of crude protein, crude fiber and crude fat, respectively, and 4208.40 kcal of gross energy. The average daily feed intakes (ADFI) of pigs fed diets containing YMFCP at the level of 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12% were 562.2, 494.5, 543.8, 525.2 and 652.1 g/day, respectively. The average daily body weight gains (ADG) were 349.5, 313.0, 328.6, 314.3 and 384.4 g. In addition, the feed conversion ratios (FCR) were 1.63, 1.58, 1.66, 1.68 and 1.69 for the pig in diet 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively. The feed cost was reduced when pigs fed diets inclusion with YMFCP. Feed cost per kg body weight gain decreased from 28.12 Bath/kg of diet 1 (control) to 25.00 Baht/kg of diet 5 (12% YMFCP). These results suggest that YMFCP may be incorporated in diets of post-weaning pigs without any detrimental effects on performance to achieve higher profit. Further study can be carried out for exploring the underlying mechanisms and scope of this type of trial.
