| บทคัดย่อ |
Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a malignant tumor of bile duct epithelium associated with a high metastatic and mortality rate. CCA is the major health problem in the northeast of Thailand. Rhinacanthin-C, a naphthoquinone isolated from roots of Rhinacanthus nasutus Kurz, has been reported to be a potent antiproliferative and induce apoptosis in various cancer cell lines. However, the detailed effects and molecular mechanisms of rhinacanthin-C on the metastasis of CCA cells were still unclear. In this study, we investigated the effect of rhinacanthin-C on the viability and migration in KKU-M214 cells. The growth inhibitory effect using
sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay showed that rhinacanthin-C (0.15, 0.3 and 0.6 µM) did not affect the viability of KKU-M214 cells. Furthermore, result of wound migration assay showed that rhinacanthin-C significantly inhibited the cell migration of KKU-M214 cells in a dose-dependent manner. Therefore, rhinacanthin-C may be a powerful candidate in developing preventive agents for CCA metastasis.
