บทคัดย่อ Corn silk is traditionally used an herb and it is also an excellent source of natural antioxidant. Stability of phytochemicals and antioxidant activity in corn silk is important for use as raw material for production of functional food and health products. Environment affects the contents of phytochemicals in the plant. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of genotypes, growing locations and their interactions on phytochemicals contents in corn silk. Eight corn hybrids were evaluated in a completely randomized design with three replications at four locations. Corn silks were harvested at market maturity and the content of total phenolics, flavonoids and anthocyanins was assessed. In addition the antioxidant activity determined by DPPH and TEAC techniques was also measured. Location, genotype and location by genotype interactions were significant for all studied traits. Samples from Sara Buri had the highest total flavonoid content, total anthocyanin content and antioxidant activity; this location had the highest temperature and solar radiation. Samples from Chiang Rai had the highest total phenolic content and antioxidant activity; this location had the widest range of day and night temperature and the soil with low nitrogen and phosphorus content. Variety PWC5 had the highest total phenolic content and total anthocyanin content, whereas baby corn genotypes had the highest total phenolic content and antioxidant activity
