| บทคัดย่อ |
The research aimed to study the intergenerational transfers of cultural capital in the Northeast
rural households, Thailand. The study was conducted with a qualitative approach using
in-depth interviewing and observation of 26 key informants from 15 households. Each of the
participating households had three generations of inhabitants and had transferred inheritance
over these generations. The units of analysis were the community level and the household level.
The descriptive analytical method was employed for data analysis.
Results showed that community structures and economic and social contexts of the community
had been changed by the new economy. The impacts of these changes cause a new pattern of
intergenerational transfers of cultural capital. Northeastern rural households transforming
patrilineal patterns into bilateral patterns (focus on both patrilineal and matrilineal equal). This
pattern of intergeneration cultural capital transfer is certainly clear that the parental generation
has to transfer since childhood, teenaged workers until old age. The cultural capital of
household is human resources, which are considered to be the identity for the children and
grandchildren's generation, including the occupational skills and education levels. |
