Abstract |
Zinc oxide/graphene/titanium dioxide (ZGT) was synthesized by a simple solvothermal method. The as-obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The band gap energy of the as- synthesized saples were performed by UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS). The sonocatalytic activities of samples were tested by the oxidation of methylene blue (MB), texbrite BAC-L (TBAC), texbrite BBU-L (TBBU) and texbrite NFW-L (TNFW) under ultrasonic irradiation, and compared with zinc oxide/graphene (ZG), graphene (GP), zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium dioxide (TiO2), respectively. The results indicated ZGT displayed higher ultrasound activated sonocatalytic activity than other catalysts (ZGT > ZG > GP > ZnO > TiO2). The optimum conditions including ultrasonic irradiation time, solution pH, initial concentration of dye, catalyst dosage and ultrasonic intensity were 120 min, 9, 20 mg/L, 1.00 g/L and 40, respectively. In addition, ZGT showed the higher enhanced sonocatalytic degradation of MB than other dyes (MB > TNFW > TBBU > TBAC). It is therefore evident that the prepared ZGT can be applied as a highly effective sonocatalyst for dye pollutants. |
