Abstract |
AlxZn1-xO (x = 0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50) semiconductors have been prepared by
sol-gel autocombustion method. The obtained products were calcined at 450 °C for 2 h and
characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, transmission
electron microscopy and UV–vis spectroscopy. From XRD patterns, the crystallinities of Aldoped
ZnO samples were decreased with the increase of the Al3+ content. The absorption
spectra of AlxZn1-xO semiconductors showed that the optical band gap energy were in the range
of 2.90–3.50 eV. The photocatalytic activities of the samples were evaluated by photocatalytic
hydrogen production from water splitting under UV light irradiation. |
