| บทคัดย่อ |
CD47 is a transmembrane glycoprotein with well-known anti-phagocytic activity. Increased CD47 supports cancer immune evasion. An involvement of chronic inflammation and increased tumor-associated macrophage has been reported in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), a bile duct cancer. We investigated CD47 and CD68 expressions in CCA and hepatoma (HCC) tissues. CD47 expression was categorized into low and high expressing group based on H-score. Macrophage (MΦ) infiltration was determined by the intensity of CD68 expressing cells in cancer area. The results showed CD47 was differentially expressed in CCA but almost undetectable in HCC. In CCA subgroup, high CD47 was significantly correlated with shorter survival and lymph node metastasis of the patients. Moderate to dense MΦ infiltration was associated with shorter survival. However, the CD47 expression is not correlated with MΦ infiltration suggesting the non-immunological functions of CD47 in CCA. To prove that, the functions of CD47-knockout cells are under investigation. In conclusion, CD47 might play the immune, and non-immune related roles in CCA and the inhibition of CD47 might be useful for CCA treatment. |
