| บทคัดย่อ |
Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency is the most common genetic enzyme disorder. The most devastating potential complication of G-6-PD deficiency in neonates is an acute hemolytic crisis which may result in acute hemolysis, severe hyperbilirubinemia and kernicterus. Females carrying G-6-PD deficient-gene, including those who are heterozygotes, can transmit the genetic disorder to their children. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of common G-6-PD mutations in Thai reproductive females. Three hundred and fifty three samples were collected from reproductive females in the northeastern of Thailand were investigated for G-6-PD mutations commonly found in Thailand by multiplex AS-PCR. The data is useful for any laboratory for setting up a molecular diagnosis of G-6-PD deficiency in reproductive females who may give birth to neonates with G-6-PD deficiency. |
