     Abstract The study was to investigate solid waste management system in Moo 4 of Ban Nong Hai, Ban Had, Khon Kaen by using life cycle assessment to compare the amount of greenhouse gas emission along with initial cost which Ban Had used in order to manage the solid waste before and after the Zero Waste project. According to the study, before Zero waste project were rendered, Ban Had had used landfilling to manage solid waste, which resulted in 508.52 tonCO2eq/year or 1.9633 tonCO2eq/ton of greenhouse gas emission and the initial cost for solid waste management was 219,066 Baht/year or 845.81 Baht/ton. After Zero Waste project conducted, Ban Had then encouraged people in the community to separate and manage their solid waste by turning organic waste and recyclable into greater goods which reduced the work for local government to get rid of solid waste. The following approach resulted in greenhouse gas emission equal to 71.57 tonCO2eq/year or 0.2472 tonCO2eq/ton and the initial cost was 120,812 Baht/year or 1,339.82 Baht/ton. From this study, it proved that Zero Waste project provides benefits to environment as well as reduce the cost of solid waste management.
