Abstract The objectives of this research were: (1) to evaluate the alignment between learning evaluation methods and learning standards of science teachers of grade 5 and grade 9 in Khon Kaen Province, and (2) to compare the alignment between learning evaluation methods and learning standards of these science teachers discriminated by age, teaching experiences, and number of teaching periods. The samples consisted of 35 grade 5-teachers and 29 grade 9- teachers selected by multi-stage random sampling method during the academic year 2017. Research instrument was a questionnaire for evaluating the alignment between evaluation methods for learning outcomes and learning standards of sciences. Data was analyzed by using Porter’s alignment index and one - way analysis of variance (one - way ANOVA). The findings were as follow: 1. Methods of learning evaluation were divided into 3 parts. The first part, alignment evaluation between course contents and standards or indicators, indicated the topic ‘phenomena from earth rotation’ and ‘human and environment’ as the highest alignment of course contents for grade 5 and grade 9 respectively. The second part revealed the results of alignment evaluation between teaching methods and standards or indicators indicating the highest alignment with Standard S 4.1 (.87) and Standard S 1.2 (.99) for grade 5 and grade 9 respectively. The third part was the alignment evaluation between learning evaluation methods and standards or indicators, which presented the highest alignment with Standard S 3.1 (.79) for grade 5 and Standard S 2.1 (.88) for grade 9. 2. Comparison of alignment between learning evaluation methods and learning standards of science teachers of elementary and junior secondary schools discriminated by age, teaching experiences, and number of teaching periods indicated that: 2.1 Alignment between learning evaluation methods and learning standards of teachers of different ages was not different. 2.2 Alignment between learning evaluation methods and learning standards of teachers of different teaching experiences was not different. 2.3 Alignment between learning evaluation methods and learning standards of teachers of different number of teaching periods was different with statistical significance at .05 level. Comparing the differences using the independent sample t-test based on number of teaching periods, it found that 1) alignment between course contents and science learning standards indicated t = 2.344, 2) alignment between teaching methods and science learning standards indicated t = -2.509, and 3) alignment between learning evaluation methods and science learning standards indicated t = -2.876.
