| Abstract |
Zeolite NaX was obtained by the facile sol-gel method in polypropylene (PP) bottle with no aging and agitation. The zeolite molar composition was 3.50SiO2: 1.00Al2O3: 5.76Na2O: 174.0H2O. The characteristic peaks of zeolite type X with octahedral shape were observed by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. All synthesized zeolite samples exhibited larger surface area (699.4 m2 g-1), pore volume (0.4136 cm3 g-1), and CO2 uptake in the range of 4.48-4.78 mmol g-1. These properties allow for application of small molecule gas adsorption as well as separation from binary mixed gas (CO2/CH4). The adsorption and separation performances were determined using breakthrough experiment. |
