     Abstract This study aims to monitor and assess the risk of pesticide residues in Chinese kale for food safety. A total of 60 samples of Chinese kale under Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) and non-GAP production were analyzed for the presence of 146 pesticides using the quick easy cheap effective rugged and safe (QuEChERS) multi-residue extraction, followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Chinese kale sample in each plot was sampled at harvesting stage in winter, summer and rainy season of 2018. From 60 Chinese kale samples, no pesticide residues were detected in 10 samples (16.7%) while 50 samples (83.3%) had detectable pesticide residues, with the relative higher proportion found in non-GAP sample that exceeding the maximum residue limits (MRLs) levels established by Thai Agricultural Standard and Codex Alimentarius Commission, especially in rainy season. Assessment of consumption risk in terms of Hazard Index (%HI) showed that, the average %HI of Chinese kale from GAP was in the range of 0.04–0.57%, and Chinese kale from non-GAP was in the range of 0.62–2.66%. HI is less than 100, this would indicate that the Chinese kale is considered acceptable for food safety. However, frequencies of detected pesticides in Chinese kale of non-GAP plots were found higher than GAP. It indicates that consumers have been less exposed to pesticide toxic from consuming GAP Chinese kale than non-GAP Chinese kale.
