| บทคัดย่อ |
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of Dolichandrone serrulata flower (DSF) aqueous extract on relative organ weights, biochemical parameters, and histological structures of liver, kidney, testis, and epididymis plus vas deferens. The experiment had 4 groups using rats as animal model. Adult male rats were administered with DSF at 100, 300, and 600 mg/kgBW via oral gavage for 48 consecutive days while the control rats were received only distilled water. At the end of the experiment, blood samples, liver, kidney, testis, and epididymis plus vas deferens were collected to determine the changes of serum biochemical components and histological structures. The results revealed that body weight, biochemical parameters, absolute and relative organ weights of all treated and control groups were not significantly different (P value < 0.05). Moreover, the histological changes of liver, kidney, testis, and epididymis plus vas deferens in all treated groups were not obviously found. These findings indicate that D. serrulata flower extract had no sub-chronic toxicity on vital and reproductive organ functions and structures when it is consumed for long term period.
