Abstract |
This study focused on clarifying the socio-economic impacts from the highway construction project on the living conditions of farmering households in Dong Ly village, Tan My commune, Bac Giang city, Bac Giang province, Vietnam, in term of employment, income and the relationship of cooperation among households. To clarify the effects, find the cause and propose suitable solutions, the author used a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, based on a questionnaire survey of 150 farming households in Dong Ly village and in-depth interviews with key informants. From the results of the data collection and analysis, this study identified both the positive and negative effects of the project on the development and well-being of people in Dong Ly village, pointed out the the cause of that situation, from which recommended solutions to create jobs, increase income and strengthen cooperative relationships between farmers in a sustainable way.
