     Abstract Transmigration program is one of the Indonesia famous programs since Soeharto’s Era with the aim to distribute the density population in each of the island. To analyze the double-linkage between household capitals and livelihood strategies of transmigrant households of New Orde Era and is the purpose of this study. The quantitative research methodology was applied to answer the aim of the study and designated in the Makmur village as the study area. Four hundred seventy one households as the population of the households’ number of Makmur village and designated as the transmigrant were selected to be the respondents. Makmur village is located in East of Kalimantan which was designated as the first location during New Orde Era in Indonesia. Until recent time, there are transmigrant households who still survive with the capital received during this Era. Therefore, in this research, livelihood strategies can be described as the dependent variable and put the capitals of households as the independent variable. The capitals of households consist of human, social, natural, physical and financial capitals owned by the households of transmigrant. The result found that 66.7% transmigrant households are having low level of livelihood strategies. Human capital has the strong relationship with livelihood strategies with sig. 000 and have strong relationship with CC as 0.434 and χ²=109,474. Nevertheless, natural capital has weakest relationship compare to other capitals of households with CC as 0.322 and χ²= 54.545.
