Abstract This paper aims to clarify the noise pollution solving STEM education learning activities which provide through Sutaphan and Yuenyong [9] context based STEM education learning approach. This approach consists of 7 stages including (1) Identification of social issues, (2) Identification of potential solution, (3) Need for knowledge, (4) Decision-making, (5) Development of prototype or product, (6) Test and evaluation of the solution, and (7) Socialization and completion decision stage. This activity starts with identifying a social issue that is relevant to the student's context, namely, the problem of noise pollution affecting the health and hearing of people living in affected areas. This social issue encourages students to find solutions to problems. Students will integrate knowledge, skills, and processes from interdisciplinary areas such as physics (e.g., sound intensity, principle of sound), mathematics (e.g., calculation skills, measurement skills), engineering (e.g., prototype design and creation skills), etc., in order to apply them in the design of prototypes and products for solving noise pollution problems appropriately. The paper may have implications for designing the STEM education in a school setting.
