Abstract |
This paper aims to clarify the lesson plan to enhance Grade 11 students’ competency on creativity and innovation in learning about designing LED light sign STEM education. Methodology was qualitative research regarded on interpretive paradigm. The participants consisted of 25 Grade 11 students in Science-Math program from the medium sized secondary school in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Students’ performances on designing LED light sign were interpreted for assessing their competency on creativity and innovation. Intervention of designing LED light sign STEM education was developed based on Thailand Physics content standard about electric circuit. The intervention was provided for 4 lesson plans that spent time for 3 weeks. Tools of collecting data included worksheets, unstructured interview, participant observation, student tasks, and student clips of presentation about light sign. Data analysis was carried out based on theoretical framework of scoring rubrics. Students’ behaviors and performances, then, were categorized and developed pattern to explain the enhancing students’ competency on creativity and innovation. The paper will discuss the details of students’ competency on creativity and innovation in learning STEM education. |
