Abstract |
In Indonesia, apartment is a wise option to determine for living nowadays, with limited land,
apartments can be lived in by more people. Most people are discouraged from buying an apartment. The
apartment should be able to answer people’s residential needs because they do not want small place to liv e.
Moreover, landed house enthusiasts in Indonesia are more significant when compared with an apartment,
shophouse, or home office. The study specifically carried out about the residential needs which are not covered
in the apartment unit in Indonesia. This research observed four existing apartments regarding space units in
Indonesia that are from the two best condominium developments and the two best affordable condominium
developments of Asia Property Awards 2019 and 2021 through available unit plans from official website of
each case studies, then compared them with the residential standard of Indonesia. In fact, Asia Property
Awards was established in Thailand in 2005 as the ultimate hallmark to recognize the region’s finest real
estate in Asia. This event acknowledges, give rewards, and celebrates the extraordinary achievements of
developers and developments in a domestic and regional level.
The results shows that apartments in Indonesia do not have laundry space, ironing space, and storage
space. Thus, apartments in Indonesia still do not meet the residential standards in Indonesia. The results of
this research were used to propose the Indonesian developer companies to build the apartment according to
the residential standard of Indonesia that is SNI 03-1979-1990. |
