ABSTRACT

This study aimed to study the content development in Lam Poetry of Isan Molamklon Singers by qualitative research which studied from related literatures and interviews the Key informants, knowledge, Casual informants, and General informants from the field study. The data were analyzed with the relevant theoretical framework with descriptive analysis.
The study results were as follows:
1. The content developments in Lam Poetry were found in four phases: 1) Verse
(Klon Lam) from the legends and oral literatures, 2) Verse (Klon Lam) from Lan Xang culture tales: Thao Hung and Thao Jueng 3) Verse (Klon Lam) from the Bai Lan literatures: Thao Pang Kham (B.E.2193) and Chao Anuwong rebellion (B.E. 2370), and 4) Verse (Klon Lam) from Molamklon since 1940 to present.
2. The Philosophy in Lam Poetry of Isan Molamklon were found in 3 concepts: 1) Metaphysical concepts consisted of a) Soul or spirit to understand the fact of birth and death, b) Karma laws of to promote merit-making and refrain from the bad things. 2) Epistemological concepts consisted of a) spiritual knowledge as a representative of the way of life in Isan. The Isaan people had understood the corruption in politics and perceived it until nowadays. b) Theoretical knowledge is the rule of livelihood in Isan family which should know and acknowledge for living together, and 3) Ethical concepts consisted of a) Ethical principles of life and society in order to compile within Isan society, b) Political ethics and governance are the morals which politicians should concern when being in the position, c) Theravada Buddhist Philosophy is guidance for conducting life as the ethical
principles in Isan society.
