Abstract Over the past few decades, China's animation film industry has experienced rapid development. In recent years, China has emphasized the promotion of traditional cultural elements. As a classic traditional figure, Nezha plays an important role in Chinese culture, so the re-creation and expression of Nezha's story has attracted attention from the public. As the highest-grossing Chinese animated film of all time, Nezha has greatly changed the status quo of China's animated film market. From 1979's classic animated feature Nezha to 2019's Nezha, the story of Nezha has gone through the changes and rebirth of The Times and, in the current complex cultural and media environment, has still won praise from audiences of all ages, and for good reason. Through interviews and reading related literature, character development is an important factor in the success of the film. To sum up, this paper will adopt the literature research method, case analysis and group discussion, and combine the interview results to analyze the characterization of Nezha's animated film, provselfing useful thoughts and suggestions for the future development of Chinese animated films. Key word: Nezha animated film characterization
