     Abstract Based on the theory and technical background of digital media art, this study explores the core view of the narrative of magical animals with their own characteristics in the Ancient Chinese book ShanHaiJing, analyzes their shape, characteristics and symbolic significance, and further objectively confirms that many scholars believe that the Ancient Chinese book ShanHaiJing has a unified narrative style. And the way the first people used symbols and imagination to create 3D symbols for magical animals. The symbol system of magical animals in ShanHaiJing book is “mixed with reality and fiction”, which contains the initial people’s experience of observing the real objects and the symbolic and symbolic meanings given to them. It is also a technique used by the initial people to describe and explain the creation of heaven and earth, and even to pass on history. Strictly speaking, they are different from the imaginations of ordinary Chinese supernatural novels. Creative aspects in this research, then try to select typically animals element with the symbol in a way that analysis, 3D reconstruction, using advanced special effects post-production technology for reconstruction and performance. As well as the innovative physical appearance, the audience can not only generate emotional stimulation, but also have an interest in Chinese traditional culture, which can attract more people to invest in research and creation, and then play a role in protecting and promoting Chinese traditional culture.
