Abstract |
This research presents a comprehensive methodology for the scheduling and environmentally conscious routing of precast product components, with the objective of reducing transportation costs. The model considers the weight and dimensions of each component, specific time windows for customers, and the equipment needed for handling products on various vehicles with different capabilities and limitations in great detail. By incorporating environmental concerns into the routing and scheduling processes, the methodology utilizes mixed integer programming (MIP) and advanced heuristic algorithms to identify optimal solutions that reconcile economic and ecological objectives. The computational results illustrate the efficacy of the proposed approach in reducing costs and markedly reducing CO₂ emissions. This study makes a significant contribution to the field of green logistics by offering a practical framework for sustainable and cost-efficient transportation planning in the precast construction industry. |
