Abstract |
Abstract. This paper presents qualitative and quantitative analysis of corporate social responsibility both
in process and after process of small and medium enterprises in the northeastern region of Thailand.
Research topics include patterns, comprehension, levels, and factors related to corporate social responsibility.
It is found that CSR in process mainly focuses on quality of product and service while corporate social
responsibility after process goes into money and items donation. The medium enterprises have better
understanding about the concept of corporate social responsibility and concern more about communities and
environment than small enterprises which consider corporate social responsibility as corporate philanthropy.
In addition, customers and employees are the highest priority groups. As a result, consumer right is mainly
concerned. Several factors having an effect on corporate social responsibility including general
characteristics, internal and external organizational environments are listed. Finally, suggestion on a
development plan and framework to promote corporate social responsibility for small and medium enterprises
in Thailand is given. |
