The alternative clean fuel is interesting by many researchers to increasing dependability of crude oil and
fuel oil. Biofuel oil production can be produced by pyrolytic process couple with catalyst from bio-oil such as fresh palm oil (FPO) and wasted cooking oil (WCO). The experiment was done in a pack bed reactor (PBR) with dolomite-like catalyst about 250 gram at temperature of 450°C, 500°C and 550°C and WHSV of 0.5 h-1. The effect of magnesium (Mg) and calcium ratios was investigated in 0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 Mg/Ca weight ratios. The dolomite-like mixtures were pressed to cylindrical pellets and then were calcined at 600°C for 4 h. The physical and chemical properties of catalysts were examined by many techniques such as specific surface area, X-ray diffractometer (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The specific surface area, calculated by BET equation, increased with increasing Mg amounts. The crystalline phases were found CaCO3, SiO2, Ca(OH)4 and MgCO3 for as-synthesized catalysts, while the phases of CaO, SiO2, MgO and CaMgO were occurred after calcined process. The liquid product oils of FPO and UCO after reaction showed higher 60 percentage. However, the maximum liquid products was obtained from Mg/Ca 0.2 weight ratio at 500C reaction temperature about 90% from FPO and 84% from WCO. The liquid products were distilled following ASTM D86 to separate for gasoline, kerosene and diesel oils. Finally, the properties of distilled oils were characterized by many methods following ASTM standards for example viscosity, acid value and heating value |
