Abstract
Study on the health information of domestic rabbits to find risk factors and the relation to mortality rate due to respiratory diseases and to predict of the severity for respiratory diseases, using prospective study. Collecting samples from healthy and sick rabbits with respiratory diseases, there is a total of 1,758 samples, divided into 1,000 healthy rabbits, 758 sick and 210 dead rabbits. The study found that age, sex, breed, density in rabbit husbandry, sanitation and management were related to illness. The study of the relationship of clinical symptoms, compared between sick and dead rabbits with respiratory diseases found that the symptoms of oculonasal discharge and higher body condition score: standard (3) to obese (5) were not found in relation to dead rabbits. While as symptoms of mental status: depression, lower body condition score: emaciation (1) to underweight (2), increasing in respiratory rate and heart rate, lung opacity pattern of interstitial and abnormal CBC and blood chemistry parameters such as AST, ALT, ALP, Albumin, GGT, BUN and creatinine, were a relationship that causes the sick rabbit to have a higher mortality rate. These values are used to prediction of the severity of respiratory diseases and used to classified patient rabbits. This is the first report of severity index of respiratory diseases in domestic rabbits.
