     Abstract ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the current situation of cultural tourism and cultural tourism development planning of a case study of a silk weaving community in Khon Kaen. The sample includes 1) silk weavers from Chonnabot District, Khon Kaen and 2) organizations related to the administration of a mulberry silk cultural village in Khon Kaen selected by purposive sampling method. The interviews conducted during the study revealed that 1) the silk weaving community in Khon Kaen has interesting backgrounds related to the governor of Khon Kaen in the past and the wisdom of weaving that has been passed for generations 2) the community enterprise consists of 42 groups, forming a network of silk production starting from the beginning process until the sale in markets and 3) mostly the community joins sale events held by various organizations and thus is sometimes faced with shortage of personnel because they have to attend distant sale events.
