Abstract |
This study examined the relationship between principals' ethical leadership and the teachers' work discipline. Questionnaire 5 rating-scale were constructed in order to collect the data. The sample of this study were 15 principals and 37 teachers in senior high schools in Indonesia. To do analysis data, the correlation coefficient was calculated to get the level of relationship of principals' ethical leadership and teachers' work discipline. It resulted that the first component of ethical leadership with the highest means score was power sharing ( =3.45, S.D.= 0.62). And the highest score mean of work discipline was self-reformation ( =3.24, S.D.= 0.64). It could be concluded that the relationship between principals' ethical leadership and the level of teachers' work discipline was strong (r = 0.663). There was a significant relationship between principals' ethical leadership and the level of teachers' work discipline in Indonesia. And the most component of ethical leadership that influence work discipline was role modelling. In terms of the implications of the study, the principal should understand wisely the way of changing teachers’ work discipline is by showing them good role model. Therefore, it is needed to have assessment for improving ethical leadership. |
