     Abstract Self-reported three-dimensional work sampling was used to study the activities of pharmaceutical supplies management pharmacists at Thakhantho Hospital, Kalasin Province and to determine the ratio between productive activities and non-productive activities. The pharmacists recorded their works in three dimensions: activities, contact, and function by using a work sampling method every 15 minutes. The data were collected over the three-month period from July to September 2018 during the working hour (at 8.30-12.30 and 13.30-16.30)The number of recorded observations was 14,603. The results showed that pharmacists spent their time on pharmaceutical supplies management (32.4% of working time). They spent 57.62% of their working time on clinical pharmacy activities in both out-patient and in-patient service and consumer protection activities. The results showed that 9.94% of working time was non-productive activities. Considering the activity dimension in pharmaceutical supplies management, the pharmacist spent their time on storage activities (27.48%), central medical disbursement (20.37%), e-GP (15.32%), medical disbursement for patient service center (12.22%), managing medical supplies activities by the medical control card and inventory inspection (9.78%), purchasing (7.59%), and distributing medicine to the sub stock (7.24%). Considering the contact dimension, most work-related activities were performed alone (46.43%). The pharmacists spent 25.07% of working time with other staffs in medical warehouse, 16.12% with the board of inspection, 4.62% with other health care staff, 3.55% with the supplier staff, 1.69% with the medical representative, 1.12% with financial staff, 0.98% with health care staff in the primary care unit, and 0.42% with the director. Data considering the function dimension indicated that the pharmacists spent most of the working time for storage (47.85%), procurement for requested items (22.92%), management of items carried in the aspect of accuracy and in the aspect of availability (17.01 and 12.22, respectively).
