| บทคัดย่อ |
ABSTRACT
This research aimed to analyze changing gender role of Female with Cross-cultural Marriage in Rural Isan Thailand. Using a qualitative research method. The sample group was selected by the purposive sampling with 15 women who were married to Westerners in a rural Thailand. Data were collected through in-depth interview and content analysis was used to analyze qualitative data.
The research indicated that the gender role as a wife, a mother, a daughter and a society member of the women within cross-cultural marriages with foreigners from the West has changed. Gender role increased significantly were that they become income earner to take care of the educational fee for their children, Subsidization, Debt payment, buying property. Moreover, they also gave advice for the family, donated money and assets for the community as well as participated in political activities. However, the gender roles that became less evident was contributing the agricultural work and money management. Changing of the gender roles reflected the change in members' expectation of their family and community from the social structure of both Thai and the West as well as the change in knowledge and experience of these women.
