| บทคัดย่อ |
Batch ethanol fermentations of sweet sorghum juice (containing 120-240 g l-1 of total sugar) by Saccharomyces cerevisiae NP 01 immobilized on sweet sorghum stalks were performed to determine specific growth rates (µ) of the immobilized and freely suspended cells. The estimated µmax and KS obtained from Lineweaver–Burk plot were 0.31 h-1 and 47.51 g l-1, respectively. Then, other kinetic parameters and mathematical models for batch and continuous ethanol fermentation from sweet sorghum juice containing ~230 g l-1 of total sugar by the immobilized yeast were constructed using MATLAB program. The results showed that all three batch models (see below) can be used to satisfactorily fit the experimental data with the regression coefficient of over 92%. When the continuous ethanol fermentation in a packed-bed bioreactor was carried out at the dilution rate of 0.023 h-1, the results showed that only substrate consumption and ethanol production profiles could be predicted using the constructed models. |
