Abstract 12th International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences 2016 (IC-HUSO 2016) At Khon Kaen University, Thailand The Feminization of Primitive Accumulation among the Migrating Women Moving from the Rural Northeast to Urban Area in Thailand Soiboon Saithong: soiboon_s@kkumail.com Dusadee Ayuwat : dusayu@kku.ac.th Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, Thailand ----------------------------------------------- Abstract This article aims to analyze the feminization of primitive accumulation of migrating women who move from the rural Northeast at their destination. The qualitative research using the Case Study Approach was conducted by the means of the in-depth interview with 26 migrating women who move from the rural Northeast to Chonburi province. There were 6 key informants selected by snowball technique, and the data were collected during the period from November 2015 to January 2016. The content analysis was performed with the data, and the results are presented in the analytical description. The findings indicated that the feminization of primitive accumulation among migrating women was complicated on the ground that they need to strive under the social structure. However, the feminization of primitive accumulation could arise from sacrificing their daily consumption and empowering themselves at their destination. Keywords: migration, primitive accumulation, women migration
