บทคัดย่อ |
Rural women play a crucial role and remarkable contribution in agriculture sector, especially
native chicken production. The study of roles of women in raising and marketing of native chicken was
conducted under Community Livestock and Marketing Development project of Phnom Neang Kangrey
Association and People In Need organization in August 2017. The study objective was focused on the
roles of women in raising and marketing of native chicken which quantitative approach was employed
to collect data by interview from 89 women native chicken raisers sampling who drwan from 114
women chicken raisers in 21 villages, 5 communes of Rolea B'ier district, Kampong chhnang Province,
Cambodia. The finding revealed that main occuaption of women chicken rasisers were farmers while the
majority age was 46, eduactional background in primary school and most of them were married playing
a role as housewife. However, in raising and markeing activities of native chicken were sharply declared
that women (Wife) was attributed as main actor in raising and marketing of native chicken as the result
showed that feed and feeding activities was a major daily activities of chicken raising, which women
taken part of 59% following by animal care and management 47%. On the other hand, activity men
(husband) led was refered to high labour forces needed such housing and fencing (76%), which women
could not perform by themselve and suggested for help from men labour forces in houshold or
neighber. Moreover, 74% of women respondents actively participated and was a decision-making in
attending training and meeting while 65% was led the marketing activity. We conclude that all in all
activities regarding raising and marketing of native chicken were kind of responsibility sharing among
households member. Therefore, it was absolutely sure that women (wife) was the leading actor in
performing neccessary activities of raising and marketing of native chicken then men do. |
