Abstract The purpose of this study was to explored students’ values regarding what students find importance in Mathematics learning by using Lesson Study and Open Approach (Inprasitha, 2011). The target group was 132 students of grade 4 and 5 Mathematics teachers, in the academic year 2017-2018, in Demonstration Primary School, Pakse Teacher Training College, Lao PDR. The mixed-methodology such quantitative and qualitative had been used in this research. The tool for data collection was students’ value survey form. The quantitative data were analyzed by basic statistics including Means ( ) and Standard Deviation (S.D). The tool for data collection of qualitative research included study field recording, teacher interview form. The tools for recording study field, video record, voice record, and camera. The qualitative data was analyzed by protocol and description. Data analysis based on the conceptual framework (Seah, 2013). The results of the study had found that the students' values regarding what students find important in mathematics learning could be described in the followings; 1) The students’ values about ways of understanding and problem-solving found that they gave the highest importance to mathematics homework, investigations and working out the mathematics by themselves. 2) The students’ value about mathematical stories and connections found that students found that they put the highest importance on mathematical rules and formula which came from using concrete materials to understand, looking out for mathematics in real life. 3) The students’ value about collectivism, social interactions found that they put the highest importance on explaining the teacher’s solutions to the class, mathematics debates, and small-group discussions. 4) The students’ value about support from others revealed that they put the highest importance to explain by the teacher, the teacher asking us questions, given a formula to use. 5) The students’ value about information and communication technology (ICT) found that they demonstrated the highest importance on mathematics game, learning mathematics with the computer and the internet.
