Abstract Domestic air transport liberalization policy not only has become a main driving force for the growth of Thailand’s aviation industry, but plays a vital role in prosperity diffusion as well. The growth of aviation industry could be identified by the dramatically increase of domestic air passengers and domestic air flights. Meanwhile, these cities with airport has shown the growth of economy resulting the better distribution of household income in their region. Besides, the lower air fare has generated more journeys from medium-income group that imply more equality in access to domestic air transport. The development of aviation infrastructure in medium and small cities has provided more alternatives in long-distance transport in Thailand.
