Abstract In 2017, Thailand has swine farm amount of 180,606 and 10,191,784 of swine. Which cause of a lot of untreated influent from the feeding process. The average of wastewater from swine is about 27 liters/swine/day (Average weigh 60 kg/swine). Thus, Calculated from the number of swine in 2017. It can be estimated that there is 275,178,168 liters of wastewater per day. Swine wastewater 1 Cubic meter is high contained 47 kg of COD, 25 kg of BOD5, 7.6 kg of Total Nitrogen and 6.5 kg of Phosphorus. Thus, if not correctly managed, Effluent from swine farm can be harmful to the environment. In Thailand, there are 169,002 of small swine farm (1-50 of swine) and 5,520 of medium swine farm (51-100 of swine) that is still haven’t effective wastewater treatment system and correctly manage. Due to the conventional treatment system is expensive, functional and maintenance cost that is not worth in developing countries and small swine farm. Therefore, it’s necessary to find the economically affordable and efficient alternative technology for the farmer. Vermifiltration by earthworm may be the answer for wastewater treatment in the small swine farm. Moreover, in order to increase the performance of Vermifiltration technology, the coffee residue was added to the topsoil for help to absorb and increase the amount of earthworm.
