Abstract This work considers the problem for exponential stability of neutral system with discrete and neutral delays, and nonlinear uncertainties. The delays are assumed to be time-varying, which means that the upper bounds of time-varying delays are available. The uncertainties under consideration are nonlinear time-varying parameter perturbations. By using the appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF), mixed model transformation, decomposition matrix technique, Peng-Park’s integral inequality and Wirtinger-base integral inequality, enhanced stability criterion for the system are constructed in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed criterion.
