| บทคัดย่อ |
The objective of this research was to examine the factors affecting marriages between Thai women and foreign men, including a long married life. The target group were Thai women living in Udon Thani Province. This was a mixed method research that used questionnaires to conduct the quantitative information and a protocol of semi-structured interviews for the qualitative research. To collect the data, snowball sampling was utilized for distributing the questionnaires. Together with multiple regression analysis, statistical methods, such as means, percentages, and standard deviations, were used to identify the following factors: 1) the real reasons for the marriages, between Thai women and foreign men, which is considered as basic information to be used when anyone, who is going to start their own family, is deciding to marry and thinking about how well they can get along with their foreign partners; and 2) the reasons for living together that help spouses to have a long married life with fewer relationship problems and to live happily with better mutual understanding. |
