Meditation is an innovation of life which could be developed in one’s inner self by concentration of mind to one’s emotion, thoughts and feelings inside intentionally and willingly without judging. When practiced regularly, meditation can improve psychological wellbeing, exceptional enhancing of emotional intelligence which results in peace of mind, effective emotional control and efficient emotional practices. Particularly introduced to elder people, meditation will enhance emotional intelligence and also increase mercy, virtues, and morals, develop peaceful, happiness and satisfaction with life, able to decrease government’s expenses in public healthcare which effects in happiness of citizens of the nation accordingly.
This development is aimed to study the factors of meditation to enhance emotional intelligence in Khon Kaen province area by data analyzing based on literature reviewing, relevant research and data collection and interview of 7 Meditation related experts who praised by good practices and faith of community and to synthesize data. Research findings are the factors of meditation to enhance emotional intelligence which consist of 4 factors which are 1) Concentration which consists of Attention, Focus, and No Distraction 2) Mindfulness which consists of Conscious, Recall, and Control 3) Critical thinking which consists of Identify, Analysis, Synthesis, and Problem Solving 4) Positive thinking which comprises of Openness, Optimistic which comprise of 2 indicators Optimistic to the world 4.2.2) Optimistic into life 4.3) Non-judgment which consists of 2 indicators; 4.3.1) Exclude thoughts in judgement 4.3.2) Understanding of state of mind without judging 4.4) Confidence which consists of 2 indicators; 4.4.1 Self-confidence 4.4.2) Unafraid of right or wrong and Courage
Analyze data into PNI modified which program to develop which consists of 2 indicators; 4.5.1) Courage to tell one’s thought and Courage to tell others
