| Abstract |
Species composition of the family Sididae (Branchiopoda: Cladocera) of Lao PDR (Vientiane Province and Vientiane Capital) was studied in detail for the first time based on 52 samples collected in 28 localities. In total, five species of the family have been recorded, the genus Diaphanosoma were represented by three species. Other two genera, Pseudosida and Sida, were represented by one species each (Pseudosida szalayi Daday, 1898 and Sida cf. americana Korovchinsky, 1979, respectively). The latter taxon, probably invasive one, was recorded as new to Laotian fauna and new to South-East Asia in general. |
