     Abstract Social skills are an important aspect for children including children with special needs, especially for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are developmental disabilities characterized by difficulties in social communication, along with restricted interests or repetitive behaviors. Children with ASD also need interaction with people around their environment. This is reinforced by the opinion of reference, which states that it is important for each child to have a positive relationship with peers in the middle and late childhood. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of group activity program on social skills of children with ASD. Five children with ASD from the special education center of Chanthaburi province were divided into the study. A 6-week structured group activity program was implemented with a total of 18 activities sessions targeting social skills of children with ASD, and a single subject research design was used for this study. Data were collected using quantitative instruments. The results showed that an overall improvement in social skills for this group and improvements appeared in engaging in activities, social interaction, and social adaptation subdomains. The study concluded that the group activity program in the classroom positively influenced social skills of children with ASD. Recommendation: Educator or parents can bring group activities in the classroom to develop social skills for children with autism. Which can adjust the content or activities that want to add desirable behavior to children. And Before implementing a group activity Parents should be trained to understand the condition of their child with autism first. The researcher and parents are educated about children with autism to create correct understanding for effective development of children with ASD.
