| บทคัดย่อ |
This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mobile-device-based teaching on knowledge and practice of endotracheal suctioning (ETS) among intensive care unit (ICU) nurses in Hue Central Hospital, Viet Nam. A total of thirty nurses working in the departments of ICU, Anesthesiology and Critical Care, and stroke center were equally divided into control and intervention groups after matching their education level and duration of work. Then, the intervention group participants underwent one week mobile-device-based teaching in ETS. The outcomes were evaluated by using the demographic data, the knowledge questionnaire, and the observation checklist for practice. The intervention instruments were developed by the researchers based on the literature review. Paired t-test and independent t-test were used for data analysis. The result showed that the participants in the intervention group had statistically significant higher mean scores of knowledge and practice than before, and those in the control group (p<0.05). The study revealed that the mobile-device-based teaching is best to improve the knowledge and performance of ICU nurses in ETS. This education program should be approached to all ICU nurse for better care of endotracheal patients across the country. |
