Abstract Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) are a major health problem related to medication use. Patient who had experienced ADRs frequently felt worried about ADRs affecting to the future treatment. The aims of this study were to explore patients’ anxiousness levels and to evaluate factors related to the anxiousness levels of ADRs reported by patients. The study showed that 11.0% of respondents had experienced ADRs. Of these, 75.6% occurred in skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders. The anxiousness levels were reported as low (33.3%), medium (32.6%) and high (34.2%). The most common used method of ADR management by patients was immediate physician consultation (66.0%). Factors related to higher anxiousness levels of ADRs were female (OR 2.261; p = 0.011), medium level of bothersome ADRs (OR 3.351; p = 0.002) and high level of bothersome ADRs (OR 45.865; p < 0.001).
