Abstract Abstract The study titled Isan Cave Arts: Human Figure Patterns and Relations with Modern Beliefs Towards Creation of Visual Arts aims to 1) study the patterns of prehistoric art which show relations with beliefs and livelihoods of modern Isan people, and 2) create visual arts from human figure patterns found in Isan prehistoric cave arts. From the study, it was found that human figure patterns in Isan cave arts had relations in terms of expression patterns with some beliefs and rituals of present Isan people, The researcher used cultural evolutionary theory in comparing the cave arts with some of Isan’s practiced rituals at present. The similarity of culture and evolution of people from the past and present has led to similar expressions of culture through arts. It can be explained that caves arts created by people with the same evolutionary level will have the same beliefs and similar lifestyle though they live in different time period. 2) The researcher has created visual arts inspired by the prehistoric cave arts of Isaan to technically create art works from ancient arts reflecting beliefs and rituals which connected lifestyles of both past and present Isan community. All of the aspects mentioned are presented in harmony via visual arts.
