Abstract Hemp has gained considerable attention and has been used successfully in various industries, such as the paper, insulation, building, and textile industries, as well as reinforcement in the polymer matrix as a composite industry due to its remarkable properties. Hemp woven is a bio degradable product from the textile industry. In the present work, the residue of hemp woven with different content, namely 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%, was employed as a reinforcement composite, and epoxy resin was used as a matrix. It was fabricated by hand lay up technic. The effect of hemp woven residue content on the mechanical properties of composite was studied using the universal testing machine (UTM). The result reveals that the tensile stretch was approximately 23 N/mm2, 35 N/mm2, 42 N/mm2, and 55 N/mm2, respectively. Obviously, the composite's tensile properties notably improved with the increase in hemp woven residue content. This study promotes using residue waste to become a valuable composite with improved tensile properties.
